cooked rice

This ephemeral work considers mass production’s relationship to the creation and loss of cultural specificity. It was made with cooked rice served using a hollow plastic object. This is typical across many cultures which can be identified by different forms. These forms are often dictated by standardized plastic products such as to-go containers and bowls. The plastic form used in Rice was created by slicing and stretching open a hollow plastic peg that once linked 2 traffic barricades. Cooked rice was then packed into the plastic and served.
