32 sq in of Reinforcement responds to months of calculating concrete slab designs for a high rise building in Manhattan during my time as a structural engineer. At the whim of developers, the project was scrapped. 32 sq in was the quantity of rebar required to reinforce the last area of slab Iribarren Vázquez designed. Pink fishnet stockings resemble the graphic interface of the structural design software used for analysis. The piece speaks to embodied labor rendered invisible in the built environment.
